Gloves

Non-Sterile:

These gloves are suitable for staff and patients with contact sensitivity.

Premier - Protectors Vinyl (non-powdered) Gloves

Vinyl are not so good for mechanical /tortion action - they split!
However they are upto a third of the price of  latex gloves and are therefore an economical choice too.
Unlike the PVC flat welded seam gloves backed on paper - they don’t leak either!

Sentinel Laboratories  - Safeskin Nitrile gloves (purple or blue)

Nitrile gloves are much stronger than latex or vinyl and are chemical resistant  and very suited for ‘mechanical’or complex activity
eg: Surgical work, laboratory work, cleaning with chemicals, sterilisation liquids, moving patients, intubation procedures,  or even manual evacuations!

Sterile:

Johnson & Johnson  - Allegard

Ansell - Deraprene (green)

Ansell - Nitra Touch

Regent - Neoprene

All of these gloves are paticulary good when used with surgical instruments due to their enhanced strength.
Nitrile is stronger than latex and chemically resistant too.

Caution:

Ordinary non-sterile and Sterile / Theatre gloves are pure latex products; these can cause reactions to patients and other already sensitised staff or even sensitise the wearer.
Sensitivity cannot be reversed so please be extremely cautious; positive reactions
can be life threatening and/or career shortening.
